The
KIT League was formed in 2004 with the first year of play being
the summer of 2005. The
original teams were from Farmington, MO – Fulton, KY – Sikeston,
MO – Union City, TN. The
league grew to six teams by adding Owensboro, KY in 2006, Tradewater, KY in
2007 and Marion, KY in 2008.
In 2010, the Farmington Browns joined the League. The current
teams in the league are Sikeston, MO and Farmington, MO.
The size of a community is not
a prerequisite for entry into the KIT League. We have cities
as small as 2,500 to ones as big as 55,000.
All entries into the league
must meet the approval of league members.
The league operates on a 50
game per team schedule from around June 1st through July 31st of each year.
In 2007 a post season playoff format was added, giving every team
a chance to compete for a title.
Currently there are
six franchises in the KIT League. But, we are looking to expand.
