The
Kitty
League was founded in 1903 and played baseball at the Class D
level until 1955. It produced many young players and gave
opportunity for veterans to keep playing the game they loved.
After 50 years, the league was reborn in 2005 as the KIT League
and nicknamed the Kitty League.

All
Star Game - Kitty
League 6, TSCBA 0. by
Brett Mills
The All-Stars of the Kentucky-Illinois-Tennessee (KIT) League
came together in Owensboro Kentucky to shut out the
visiting All-Stars of the Tennessee Summer Collegiate Baseball
Association (TSCBA) Sunday evening. The final score was 6 to
0. The KIT All-Stars scored first with one run in the bottom of
the 1st inning. Mike Bass (Railroaders) led off with a
single, and stole second base. Bass took third base on a
fielders choice. He scored on an RBI groundout by Tyler
Duplantis (Pirates). KIT increased its lead with two more
runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Travis Jankowski (Bobcats)
walked for the second time in the game. He stole second base, then
scored on an RBI double off the bat of Justin Juneau (Pirates). Duplantis
collected his second RBI of game by following with a RBI double of
his own, scoring Juneau. KIT added two more runs in the bottom of
the 6th inning. Jordan White (Oilers) singled. He scored all the
way from first base on a RBI double by Ryan Chesler (Bobcats).
Chesler moved to third base on a groundout and scored on
an RBI grounder by Luke Garmon (OIlers). KIT scored one more
run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Mike Perez (Bobcats) singled.
Perez got to second base safely when a ball intended to start
a 1-6-3 double play sailed over the shortstop's reach, so
Garmon reached first safely. A walk loaded the bases. The TSCBA
infield converted a fielder's choice into an opportunity to force
Perez at the plate. but the bases remained loaded. Garmon scored
on an RBI single by Kellen Begeman (Railroaders). TSCBA got
the two outs it needed to leave the score at 6 to 0 in KIT's
favor, where it remained at the end of the game. The succession
of KIT pitchers combined for the three-hit shutout. The starter
was Zach Lewis (Browns). Ryan Rogers (Oilers) gets the win -- pitching
the two innings that made the game official. The losing pitcher
was TSCBA starter Garrett Franchier (Wilson Co. Lynx). Click
